Harthena brings chores, allowances, meal planning, shopping requests, and the family calendar together — with a parent view that always shows what actually needs attention, and a child view built for their age.

You ask. They ignore. You ask again. Family life shouldn't feel like project management — but without a shared system, it always does.
When responsibilities are invisible, so is the connection between effort and reward. Children need to see their own progress to care about it.
Calendars here, shopping lists there, pocket money in a notebook. Nothing connects. Nothing is shared. Nothing sticks.
Chores, allowances, goals, meal planning, shopping requests, and the family calendar — connected and working together.
Track allowances, savings goals, and spending history. Children see their balance grow toward something they care about — and learn why saving is worth it.
Set recurring tasks with rewards — payment, savings bonus, activity, or gift. Children mark tasks done; parents approve. Mandatory tasks gate optional rewards until the essentials are complete.
Everyone knows what's happening. School events, activities, and family plans in one shared view. iCal sync works with Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.
Plan the week's meals together. Search recipes by URL or paste in your own ingredients. You can even photograph a recipe page and let Harthena extract it automatically. Shopping lists are built from your meal plan. Children can suggest meals and help with planning — giving them a stake in family decisions.
Children submit requests; parents approve or decline in one tap. A calm, structured process that replaces pestering with a proper flow — and gives children practice articulating what they need and why.
Under 7: large colourful tiles. Ages 7–13: personalised dashboard with tasks and money. Teens (14+): full dashboard with goal bar, weekly progress chip, and inline calendar. Each child sees exactly what fits their age.
Children cannot change balances, approve their own tasks, or see other children's data. Every outcome requires parent sign-off. The parent "Today view" always shows what genuinely needs attention — and nothing more.
No complex setup. No learning curve. A short wizard walks you through everything on day one.
Register and give your family a name. A setup wizard guides you through choosing which features to turn on.
Each child gets their own profile, icon, and view designed for their age band — under 7, 7–13, or 14+.
Add allowances, create tasks with rewards, import your calendar via iCal, and plan this week's meals. Turn on what you need, hide what you don't.
Children log in on their own devices. Responsibilities are clear. Rewards are visible. Parents see exactly what needs their attention each day.
Each family member gets a view designed for how they think and what they need to see.

No ads · Your data is never sold · Not a financial service — we never hold your family's money
No — and that's deliberate. Harthena keeps score; you keep the money. There are no cards, no top-ups and no transaction fees, so pocket money works however your family already pays it — cash, bank transfer, or alongside a card app you already use.
Accounts are created and controlled by a parent, and children's profiles hold only what's needed to run the app — never surnames, email addresses or location, and names and birthdays are encrypted. We never show ads and never sell data. Harthena is operated by Family Digital Solutions Ltd, a UK company registered with the ICO; your family's data is stored securely in the European Economic Area and protected under UK GDPR. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
All of them, differently. Under-7s get a simple guided view with spoken prompts, 7–13s get chores, goals and stars, and teens (14+) get a more grown-up view of their money, goals and week. One family account — each child sees an age-appropriate version.
Children just tap their name and enter a simple 4-digit PIN — no email address or password needed. To use their own device, a parent first links it to the family with a one-time link.
Your 14-day trial needs a card to start, and if you do nothing it simply continues onto the Family plan — your first payment is taken when the trial ends. Don't want to continue? Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged a penny: your account drops to the Free plan and nothing is deleted. Your exact trial end date is always shown in Settings → Subscription.
Nothing is deleted when you move plans. All your children's profiles, pocket money history, chores, goals and meals stay safely stored. The Free plan supports 1 child and 1 parent with core features, so anything beyond that is locked rather than lost. Upgrade again at any time and everything is exactly where you left it.
Yes — go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription, which takes you to our secure billing portal to confirm. You keep full Family-plan access until the end of your current billing period (or trial), and your data stays saved on the Free plan afterwards.
Searching for recipes, opening recipe details, and pasting a link from most recipe websites — BBC Good Food, Jamie Oliver, the big supermarkets and any site that publishes standard recipe markup. Harthena pulls out the title, ingredients and method, and the ingredients go onto your shopping list when you plan the meal. The Family plan includes 200 lookups a month, and results from Harthena's shared recipe pool are free and don't count.
Yes — the Family plan includes two parent accounts, and both have full, equal access to everything: chores, money, meals, settings and billing. For security, new parent devices are approved from your family's email or the primary parent's device.
Any phone, tablet or computer with a browser — nothing to install from an app store. Add it to your home screen like a normal app. When the signal drops you can still see your family's latest data, and chores ticked off or requests made offline sync automatically when you're back online.
Because families aren't priced per child, and we don't think family apps should be either. £4.99 covers up to four children and two parents — everything included.
